That’s exactly where Izzy & Brayden were when we first “met” them in a Facebook group two years ago. Izzy was finishing college, they were high school sweethearts who’d already been together seven years, and she knew one thing for sure: she did not want to take on the responsibility of planning a destination wedding by herself. Life started life-ing—new job, big decisions, shifting priorities; so instead of a big destination wedding, they chose a sweet micro-wedding in October 2023 and put the dream honeymoon on pause.

What led you to choose Secrets Tides, and how would you describe your experience there?
We wanted a tropical and luxury feeling vacation and Secrets Tides definitely delivered! We were going more for relaxation than party vibes and I think that John & Jenn helped us choose perfectly! (We still had fun at the bars that were open later, too lol!) It was an amazing stay that made us feel so special and taken care of! Every staff member we interacted with was so welcoming and friendly and made us want to stay forever.

​What’s one “extra” you’re super glad you splurged on?  
I’m so happy we got preferred club. Yulian (our butler), the preferred pool, the super chill preferred lounge to hang out in and make friends. Plus the food truck was amazing. We also ended up booking a banana boat tubing experience with seapro that was super fun!

If you could choose three words to describe your vacation, what would they be?
“Excelente!”  gorgeous, peaceful!

What unforgettable memories did you create on your trip, and what stood out to you about your experience working with United Travel?
We made so many friends on our trip! We loved our butler who was recommended by United Travel - we felt really taken care of by all! I’m so glad we followed their advice in all of this, especially when it came to choosing our room which had a swim out pool! It was so romantic and relaxing. We also felt prepared for certain aspects of the travel that would have otherwise made me nervous and that helped us approach everything with a positive attitude - making for a really peaceful vacation!

We were not super experienced with international travel and felt overwhelmed by the prospect of tackling the planning ourselves. I first found John & Jenn in a wedding Facebook group where I was asking for advice on destination weddings and set up a meeting with them! While we ultimately chose to get married in our home state, we still liked them so much after that meeting that we kept in touch until it was time to plan our honeymoon!

They are so good at creating special moments - from birthday wishes, to anniversary decorations on the actual trip, they were so welcoming and sweet to us. I can tell that so much thought goes into what they do.

​What was one part of planning your vacation you knew you couldn't have done alone?  How did having United Travel help with that?
The transportation to and from the airport was a huge plus and weight off of our shoulders! Plus the drivers were great! I also would have felt anxious about tipping had they not guided us on the norms for that - which I was so happy we followed because our service was awesome.

What would you tell someone considering working with United Travel?
